January 5th or January 12th

Hello everybody,
I know that the 5th is the day when most people will be back to work at IAP after the holidays.
However, attendance could still be low due to many and (un)expected side effects of the celebrations.
A quick poll could solve the problem: please send me an email at iocco@iap.fr only if you plan to attend the Cafe on january 5th; I will post an ad with the first 2009 Cafe date as soon as possible, and upload some papers.
Je vous souhaite une tres Bonne Nouvelle Annee!
Fabio

Café GReCO on Dec 15th

Here are a couple of papers I co-authored, which I may discuss:

*L. Pieri, A. Pizzella, E.M.Corsini, E. Dalla Bontà, F. Bertola
Could the Fermi-LAT detect gamma-rays from Dark Matter annihilations in the dwarf galaxies of the Local Group?
arXiv:0812.1494

*C. Giocoli, L. Pieri, G. Tormen, J. Moreno
A Merger Tree with Microsolar Mass Resolution: Application to gamma-ray Emission from Subhalo Population
arXiv:0811.2426

Also look at this paper:
*M. Cerdonio, R. De Pietri, Ph. Jetzer, M. Sereno
Local Dark Matter searches with LISA
arXiv:0811.4711

It would be very nice if somebody dealing with gravitational waves could make a very brief and informal introduction to GW and LISA.

-- I'd like to add the following paper, discussed yesterday with Martin
(see also the figure above for a visualization of the Milagro hotspot)

A. A. Abdo et al. (Milagro Collaboration), Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 221101 (2008).

there is also a 'Viewpoint' discussion at

Cafe GReCO, 1 December 2008

Today (1.30 pm in Salle du Conseil), we will discuss the
papers suggested by Lidia (arXiv: 0810.4995, Nature
Letters vol. 456 page 362 and arXiv: 0811.3894), along
with the (many!) papers on the possible intepretations
of the PAMELA data

We will also discuss arXiv:0810.2826 suggested by
Luc (see below).

Cafe GReCO, 24 November 2009

We resume our weekly meetings on Monday, 24/11/2009. In occasion of the first meeting of the new academic year, we will introduce the new members and discuss about the organization issues (organizers, topics to be discussed, structure of the meetings etc.). We expect this meeting to last 1/2 hour or so, so please grab a cup of coffee and meet us at 1.30pm in Salle du Conseil.

Welcome

Welcome to the blog of the GReCO group at the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris. For the moment we plan to use it only as a tool to put together the discussion list for our weekly meetings and also for announcements of interest to the members of the group.
